Did You Know ...

Rutgers is environmentally conscious: 100% of buildings were audited in 2009 for lighting energy efficiency, and new light fixtures are now being installed all around campus. Through our on-going efforts to recycle more waste, more than 13.5 tons, or 27 million pounds, of materials were recycled/reused over the course of a year.

Transfer Students

Rutgers welcomes students transferring from four-year colleges and those from two-year colleges who want to complete their baccalaureate degree.

Transferring to a new school can be challenging and oftentimes students have questions regarding the process. University policies, major requirements and the transfer of credits are just a few of the questions students may have.

To ease this transition, the university provides a number of services, which include helping students determine the credit they will receive for work completed at another institution, advising students about courses of study to pursue, and acclimating students to the Rutgers community and environment.  In addition, some students may begin a Rutgers career at one of the university's schools and decide to transfer to another Rutgers school.  Please browse the web sites below for more information about programs and services for transfer students.

Gifting the Future

In 2007, Rutgers College Class of 1954 graduate John J. “Jack” Byrne and his wife Dorothy, gave $2 million to create one of the most exciting academic innovations in our history--the Byrne Family First Year Seminars. Matching incoming students with our top professors, the seminars give freshmen an immediate initiation into the highest-level intellectual activity happening on campus. A pilot Byrne Seminar for transfer students was offered in Spring 2012.
