Campus Deans generate academic programs and events that bring faculty and students together beyond the classroom, helping to build academic community on the campus. The Campus Dean introduces students to the scholarly work of faculty based on the campus, brings faculty into the learning communities on the campus, and works with students and faculty to develop year-long themes that focus on the campus as an academic entity. They also bring to campus visiting speakers to enrich the academic dialogue on their campuses. The Campus Deans work with the Office of Academic Engagement and Programming to develop events for departments, residence halls, Honors and EOF programs, and other groups for which the campuses provide an academic context. Campus Deans also work very closely with the Deans of Students on each campus to ensure that all students have the most positive, productive, and successful academic experience possible.
